The 2016 NKR 50th Anniversary Seminars
In 2016 the Dutch Kendo Renmei (NKR) celebrates its 50th Anniversary. To commemorate this special milestone in our history we will organize three seminars related to the main disciplines represented in the NKR: Kendo, Iaido and Jodo. The seminars will be organized in Amsterdam from 11 August to 15 August 2016.
As always the seminars will be under the leadership of renowned top Japanese Sensei who will be joined by other highly ranked Japanese teachers. European top teachers will as always support the Japanese delegations.

The Jodo Seminar will take place from Thursday August 11 to Saturday August 13.

We are extremely honored that the seminar will be led by Ishido Shizufumi Sensei (Iaido Hanshi 8th Dan, Jodo Kyoshi 8th Dan) who will be supported byYoshimura Kenichi Sensei (Iaido Kyoshi 8th Dan, Jodo Kyoshi 8th Dan), Otake Toshiyuki Sensei (Jodo Kyoshi 8th Dan, Iaido Kyoshi 7th Dan) and Shoji KeiichiSensei (Jodo Kyoshi 8th Dan, Iaido Kyoshi 7th Dan). The Japanese Sensei will be supported by high ranked European Sensei.

The Iaido Seminar will take place from Saturday August 13 to Monday August 15.

The various seminars will be organized in different halls. Please check out the “Seminars” tab to see where your seminar will take place however be aware that this may change during the seminar so also keep an eye on the Seminar Information Boards.

To plan your trip to the Venue you can use the various navigation tools available including Google Maps. The facility has its own parking space. Tariffs and other information can be found via the following link. The parking fee at Sporthallen Zuid is € 18.50 per day which can be paid in cash (payment machine only accepts euro notes up to 20 euros) or Maestro bankcard.
Please note that parking in Amsterdam may be very expensive. Cheapest parking facilities are the so-called “P+R” parking lots. At walking distance from the Sporthallen Zuid there is a “P+R” parking lot at the Stadionplein. If you arrive before 10am the maximum fee for the day is 8 euros. If you arrive after 10am the maximum fee for the day is 1 euro.

Public transportation in Amsterdam is well organized through Metro, buss and tram. The following link may be useful to plan a trip via public transport. Please note that you can only use public transport in The Netherlands if you have a so-called “OV Chip Card”. Information on this can also be found via the link.

Information to plan your trip via public transport is also available via the “9292 app” which is available for different platforms.

The Sayonara party will take place on Saturday August 13. The venue will be Sporthallen Zuid, VIP-room first floor.

Note: the Sayonara fee is including a welcome drink but excluding additional drinks. Payment for your drinks is done using special coins. Spare coins can be returned.

Jodo grading will take place in the morning of August 13. Kendo grading will take place in the afternoon of August 14. Iaido grading will take place in the afternoon of August 15.
Please check announcements during the seminar for further details.

If you want to take part in grading for Jodo, Iaido or Kendo please indicate this during registration following the instructions on the registration page. Make sure you answer all questions and check answers before proceeding. If provided information proves incorrect you may not be allowed to participate in the grading of your choice.

Please realize that grading for all disciplines can be done up to and including 5th Dan. For grading regular EKF rules apply. Please bring a copy of your most recent grading certificate.
Payments for participation in the grading and the grading certification will be due on the day of the grading. More detailed information will be made available during the seminars.

Please note: non-NKR (Dutch Kendo Renmei) members need to provide an official written permission from their own organization to take part in the grading.

This form is used to register for the NKR 50th Anniversary Seminars 2016 that will take place August 11-15 in Amsterdam. Your registration is final when you have received a confirmation by e-mail indicating the full participation fee. Please realize that the participation fee only covers the right to participate in the activities mentioned in this form.
It is possible to register multiple participants but this means you have to fill in a complete registration form per participant. To simplify administration please use unique e-mail addresses for each registration.
